So, it's that time of year…where everyone hits the gym and makes those resolutions to get in better shape for the upcoming summer months.

Well, I'm not really one to make resolutions…as I often know I'll end up breaking them. But, this year I am determined to get myself toned and back to the old me. This includes watching what I eat, the alcohol I consume and most importantly going to the gym.

The gym I'm a member of is less than 2 miles from my house and yet I still lack the motivation and desire to go there and get in shape. Having a workout buddy would totally help (which hopefully happens in Feb!)…but I still need to see results sooner or I lose interest.

Having a strict diet plan is another complex part of getting in shape. I really enjoy food…of all varieties, which doesn't exactly help my bikini look nice come July come summer time. I tried the no carb deal before New Year's and found myself constantly hungry and extremely grumpy…plus I like bread and pasta! ?

So, I decided to try something a little different this year. Something that I feel I can stick to and actually see if there are results. I'm going to do the Special K diet in conjunction with no less than 3 days at the gym. I'm not looking to lose a ton of weight, I'm just looking to shed some inches and tone certain areas.

So, here's the low down on how the Special K Diet works…it's pretty simple…and they say you could lose up to 6lbs in 2 weeks…so, you replace 2 of your 3 meals a day with either Special K cereal with skim milk or substitute with Special K protein meal bars/shakes or hell they even have Special K waffles. They also encourage 2 snacks a day with the Special K cereal bars, protein snack bars, 100 cal crackers or Special K protein water. The third meal you can have however you want it…no need to count calories or avoid bread (although I'm sure that would help!). The website allows you to make your own 2 week challenge plan with meal ideas, etc.

So, today I purchased a good starting point for week one. I eat 2 of my 3 meals a day at the office so, having it here makes it easier to stay on track. I plan to take measurements and track my progress with an update at the end of week 1 and then again at the end of week 2 to see if the 6lbs in 2 weeks can be accomplished!

I have actually been trying this out, and so far it has worked pretty well. I've toned up a bit and lost a few pounds... But since I've been treating a sinus infection, I broke all the rules and ate whatever when my appetite finally came back, so I've set back my results. But, like I said, if you stick to it, it helps.

So, I'm all for people being successful at what they do. And doing what they love. And being recognized for their talents. I am happy for Taylor Swift and all she's been able to already accomplish in her short time in the musical industry. She's young and talented and I'm sure will be around for a good while.

Here's my real issue.

She's a country singer. Produces country albums. Wins country music awards. Appears on country stations. You get what I'm saying. I understand that she's a crossover artist with her "pop" country songs popular with all the little girls nowadays.

So, her popularity has caused her country twang to appear on the same radio stations i tune into to hear Jay-Z, Rihanna, Beyonce, NeYo, etc. There's something that's just not right about that. If i wanted to hear a country singer i would have those stations programmed into my presets. But i dont. because i dont listen to country. At the AMA's Taylor won Best Female COUNTRY artist and Best COUNTRY album and was able to beat out Beyonce, Lady Gaga and even Michael Jackson for Artist of the Year.

It's come to the point for me that i completely dont listen to any of the "HOT" radio stations in our area. I cant stand to hear country on a station that also plays "We Run This Town". I now just listen to my mix cds of the music i want to hear so that im not changing from one station playing Taylor Swift to another playing Taylor Swift.

I guess im just a hip-hop/pop lover and should just accept that she's what's considered hot and new regardless of genre. but my fix is simply not listening to the radio anymore. and if i do...i'm tuned into 104.5 Classic Rock. At least then i know i wont have to change the station due to Taylor's popularity.

With their powers combines, the Lovely Ladies of Mojo enjoyed their second Girl's Night Out event of 2009!!

The evening started with JK & Smitty showing the girls their appreciation by putting a ring on it!!

We enjoyed some half price sushi and martini specials at the Blu Martini, where the martinis and converstation were both flowing!!

Then it was off to Morty's Comedy Joint for some great laughs, drinks, and grub with some of the funniest peeps on MOJO!!

Landsharks for Wild Wednesday!!! Where we danced, chatted, drank, and laughed with TONS of MOFOS!!
