Now you don't have to wait until Wild Wednesday to listen to remixes of your favorite songs.... sadly, you still have to wait for the drink specials. I loves me some $2 Long Islands.

From the makers of 'Guitar Hero' comes 'DJ Hero.' Available now for Wii, PS3, Xbox 360 and the PS2.

This time around we trade in our strumming for scratching with a handy new turn table controller which is available in a standard set or a special 'Renegade' edition featuring Jay-z and Eminem. The Renegade version comes complete with a carrying case that doubles as a stand to place the turntable on. I sprang for the standard edition and would strongly recommend the upgrade.

The gameplay is pretty much what you've come to expect from the Activism Rhythm games. All your basic guitar game play has been transformed to a turntable where you are expected to mash up 2 artists at a time.

One thing I really liked about this title was the co-op mode where and additional player can pick up a Guitar Hero controller (sold separately) and have a jam session. There are also a few download track packs available online, but I wouldn't expect weekly downloads like 'Guitar Hero' receives any time soon.

Aside from the fun characters invented for the game, other playable characters feature a history lesson in song mixing; DJ AM, Grandmaster Flash and even Jazzy Jeff.

The Guitar Hero signature Star power has been replaced by Euphoria. When the power becomes ready a light begins blinks on the turntable. I love this feature, as I can never seem to activate star power with a guitar without swinging it violently and loosing my note streak.

DJ Hero came out in October, and I'm a little surprised it didn't sell better during the holidays. It's fast paced and can be played by a beginner or an expert. It might not be worth the hefty $100+ price tag but its certainly worth trying out.

All and all I give it a 3 out of 5
